Russia’s ready the World Cup 2018 – are you?
Russia is ready to host the most amazing World Cup ever – are you going to be there?
If this year’s Confederations Cup is anything to go by, next year’s big event is going to be fantastic! The Confederations Cup is a great opportunity to hold a ‘dry run’ of the world’s biggest football event. Held in some of the stadiums that will be used for the World Cup and involving just eight international teams, the Confederations Cup allows organisers to test out, not just the venues, but the ticketing and security procedures, transport, accommodation … all the essentials that help make for a successful event the footballing world can be proud of.
And it’s not just RNTO that’s excited about next year’s big event – FIFA President Gianni Infantino had the opportunity to attend the Confederations Cup during the summer, and really appreciated the level of organisation that made it a tremendous success. ‘All the stadiums are excellent and beautiful, with a lot of spectators and good organisation’, he said.
Mr Infantino attended the semi-final match between Portugal and Chile, which took place in Kazan. Ending in a 0 - 0 draw, it was settled by a penalty shoot-out, which the Chileans won 3 - 0. ‘Today at the stadium we saw 10 000 fans from Chile’, the FIFA President said. ‘The Confederations Cup is a football celebration!’
His words were backed up by FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samura. ‘The FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 organisation is at the highest level, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia will be even better’, she said.
Ms Samura was in Kazan for the event. She said that Russia's readiness for the event surpassed FIFA’s expectations and provided ‘a very important milestone for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia’. Matches for next year’s World Cup itself will begin on 14 June and run through to the final on 15 July, taking place at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities. Fans from all over the world will be converging on the country, eager to cheer on their team to victory. Will you be among them?
Organising travel and accommodation for any World Cup can be a headache. No one knows who will make it through to the final stages, so you need to partner with the best.
